Tank Attack looks pretty good. To be honest, I wasn't the biggest fan of PD Amiga games. I started out right away with tons of pirated games, so most of the time, the PD games didn't impress me much. There were a couple that stand out though. Diamond Fever was a decent action/puzzle game similar to Crillion. Crazyballs was pretty good, but way too short. There were also a couple really well done Boulder Dash clones.
Not sure what Chris Hames is doing now, but I know what he did after Egyptian Run.
Chris Hames wrote the PC emulator known as PC Task.
BTW if you succesfully complete Egyyptian Run you get that annoying skull laughing at you anyway. Always hated that game
I got myself the new Das Keyboard which has per-key customisable lighting. I have set my "M" key to flash as soon as there is a new MsMadLemon video available on YouTube haha. My M key was flashing because of this video. I can't wait until M flashes again haha
I love these videos Maddi :-) the reactions and laughter are the same here when I play the retro games with my kids :-) both my kids absolutely love the Amiga and C64 so I'm hoping they keep the scene alive for many years to come :-) x
Hey Maddi... May I suggest a PD game for you to try it's a puzzle game called Springtime by Trecision ... I had this on a compliation disk 25 years ago never played it until a couple of years ago when I was brushing the dust off my old Amiga 500 ... I kept playing the game for 4 hours straight I even downloaded the game rom to play it on my laptop still playing it till this day... It's that addictive that I even tracked the developer on FB to commend him!
Hey Maged, Springtime by Trecision. thanks for the suggestion, i've never heard of that and must find it and give it a go. From what you're saying it really does sound addictive! It's funny how some PD games are better than commercial ones!
I used to love Tank Attack. I even had a parallel port to joystick adapter so that I I could play it 3 and 4 player with some friends. You should get more people around and try it :-)
The power up that gives you the shot that doesn't bounce, we used to call that sh** shot :-D
To the east is the entrance area to the vault. In order to open it, you have to work out how to open all of the doors at once. One of the instructions will open a door without closing any. This must be the last key you press. Now, find a way to open a door that closes only the doors you will open later. And continue until all of the doors are open.
One solution is "NILBOG". (Many other solutions are possible; this one has the advantage of spelling something interesting when reversed.) Each key opens a door while not closing any of the doors you have already opened.
Pushing the Mainentance button (M), will teleport you to caves underneath the castle. When you leave this area, it will open up a new door to the east of the entrance room.
At the very first intersection, to the right is a room. A chest in that room contains the candelabrum needed to solve quest 3.
Continuing down the corridor into the caverns, you will come to a room containing a chest in the middle of the room and a Spark spell containstly bashing down onto it. You can empty the chest by timing you steps correctly. Be careful, as the Spark spell seems to be a master level spark.
The next room and then north leads to where Angela is trapped. She will join your party automatically and you can return her to town to solve quest 6.
Further west and then back east, and then to the end of the passage is a teleporter that returns you to the room south of where you found Angela.
If you instead go further west is the lair of some cobras. You can find several cobra eggs scattered around this room.
To the south is the lair of the Queen of the Spiders. Kill her and you will find her heart. This will satisfy quest 4. There is also a teleporter here that will return you to the starting room.
